Problem
Probable Causes
Solution
Incorrect Digital Controller
setting.
Check the
Digital Controller
, it must be set for either
PLC
or
PRX
operation mode.
Indexer operates, but
flash cure does not
operate.
Signal cable may be loose or
defective.
Check signal cable.
Not enough preheat time to
allow the heating elements to
come up to operating
temperature.
Increase preheat time interval to bring the heating
elements up to proper operating temperature.
On systems using multiple
flash cures, one of the
communication cables between
flashes may be disconnected.
In multiple flash cure installations, check to be sure that
the communication cable between the flash cures and
the press are properly connected.
The temperature setting on the
Digital Controller may be set
too high or too low causing
under cure.
Check the temperature setting on the
Digital Controller
and adjust as required.
The flash cure is
operating, but the first
two or three garments
are not curing
properly.
One or more of the lamp
sections may be inoperative
due to incorrect selection.
Check the
Digital Controller
to ensure the correct lamp
sections are selected and operating.
The quartz heating elements
are not parallel to the printing
pallets.
Level the quartz heating element assembly using
instructions found in the Installation Section of this
manual.
The flash cure is
operating, but the
garments exhibit an
uneven cure across
the printed image.
The flash cure reflector is dirty.
Clean the reflector using a lint free cloth dampened in
Isopropyl Alcohol.
The control box cooling fan
filters are clogged restricting
air flow through the electrical
enclosure and across the
heating element reflector.
Clean or replace cooling fan filters as required in
Scheduled Maintenance section of this manual. Clogged
cooling fan filters restrict air circulation in both the
electrical enclosure and at the heating element
assembly creating hot spots which can result in
scorched garments.
The cooling fans are clogged
reducing air circulation across
the quartz heating elements.
Check and clean the cooling fans as required in the
Scheduled Maintenance section of this manual. Clogged
cooling fans reduce the volume of circulated air in the
system, resulting in hot spots in the heating element
reflector. This will result in scorching of garments.
The flash cure
operates, but some
garments show signs
of scorching.
Power level too high.
Using the
Digital Controller
, set the power level to a
lower setting to eliminate scorching.
