6.6 Automatic operation and system
operation modes for PPB 30 K/RC units
These two operating modes are only available
for PPB 30 K/RC units.
Your specialist installer can choose between
the operating modes
automatic mode
(conti-
nuously variable regulation) or
system opera-
tion
(automatic control when limit values are
exceeded).
The automatic operation and system opera-
tion modes only affect the PPB 30 K units. All
other units on the RLS 45 K are operated as
set on the room air control.
PPB 30 automatic operation mode
In
automatic mode,
the PPB 30 K/RC units
run virtually independently of the settings
undertaken on the RLS 45 K control.
Heat recovery or cross-ventilation operating
mode can be set manually. The ventilation
level Off, External Off and exhaust air mode
functions are also available (if released in the
basic setting).
Connected PPB 30 O and PP 45 units run
according to the settings on the RLS 45 K
control.
PPB 30 RC units can also be operated in
automatic mode, also without a control unit
(heat recovery mode). If the DS 45 RC radio
switch is used, the selected ventilation stage
may be superimposed on the automatic mode
for a limited time (service mode
ventilation
level). The selection of the heat recovery or
crosswise operating modes, can be perma-
nently changed with the DS 45 RC radio
switch.
In automatic operation, the volumetric flow
regulation is always continuously variable and
undertaken using the humidity and temper-
ature values measured with the humidity
sensor inside the PPB 30 K/RC.
Continuously variable regulation of the vol-
umetric flow takes place in a linear fashion
between the set humidity value limits of
r.h.%=min (minimum ventilation level) and
r.h.%=max (maximum ventilation level).
Measurements from other sensors only affect
the volumetric flow regulation of the PP 45
units (Fan1/Fan2 fan interface).
Dehumidification mode is possible via
exhaust air mode (45 m³/h) or intensive venti-
lation (ventilation level 5).
Dehumidification mode starts automatically
when the maximum humidity value limit (in-
tensive ventilation) is exceeded.
The ventilation system then runs in exhaust
air mode or intensive ventilation until the val-
ue has fallen 3 % below the value limit. Then
the ventilation switches back to demand-
driven mode. For exhaust air mode
Chap-
ters 6.7 and 6.8.
The “Max. humidity value limit” parameter can
be set by your specialist installer using the
commissioning software/service mode.
PPB 30 system operation mode
In system operation, the ventilation system
(all PPB 30 K and PP 45 or PPB 30 O units)
run with all the settings undertaken on the
RLS 45 K control.
PPB 30 RC units are operated with the set-
tings on the DS 45 RC radio switch, PP 45 RC
master or the RLS 45 K+PP 45 EO controller.
This includes heat recovery or cross-ventila-
tion, ventilation level, intermittent ventilation,
sleep function or External Off operating mode.
Demand-driven mode can be switched on and
off manually as described in Chapter 2.3.
In contrast, the way in which the system
behaves when the maximum humidity value
is exceeded is not dependent on the set op-
erating mode. The function selected for dehu-
midification (exhaust air mode or intermittent
ventilation) is always undertaken. If exhaust
air mode is switched on, all PP 45 / PPB 30 O
connected to the RLS 45 K run with the sup-
ply air function.
The supply air function of the PP 45 units is
also used for the volumetric flow compensati
-
on of the PPB 30 RC units.
