PPB 30 K / PPB 30 RC units have an in-
stalled humidity and temperature sensor as
standard. Only the measurements of the in-
ternal humidity sensor are taken into account
for humidity regulation. Measurements from
other sensors are not taken into account.
PPB 30
:
If the maximum humidity value limit is ex-
ceeded, exhaust air mode can be automatically
activated with maximum air extraction (45 m³/
h without heat recovery) or intensive ventila-
tion (ventilation level 5 with heat recovery).
This function can also be started manually
with an optional button or switch (with start
delay/duration activated).

7.6 Automatic and system operation
operating modes
for
PPB 30 K
/
PPB 30 RC
units
These two operating modes are only available for
PPB 30 K
/
PPB 30 RC
units.
Your specialist installer can choose between the
automatic
(continuously variable regulation) or
system
(automatic control when limit values are
exceeded) operating modes.
The automatic operation and system operation
modes only affect the
PPB 30 K
units. All other
units on the
RLS 45 K
are operated as set on the
room air control.
7.6.1 Automatic operating mode
For
PPB 30
In automatic mode, the
PPB 30 K
/
PPB 30 RC
units run virtually independently of the settings
undertaken on the
RLS 45 K
control. Heat recov-
ery or cross-ventilation operating mode can be
set manually. The ventilation level Off, External
Off and exhaust air mode functions are also avail-
able (if released in the basic setting). Connected
PPB 30 O
and
PP 45
units run according to the
settings on the
RLS 45 K
control.
PPB 30 RC
units can also be operated in auto-
matic mode, also without a control unit (heat re-
covery mode). If the
DS 45 RC
radio switch is
used, the selected ventilation level may be super-
imposed on the automatic mode for a limited time
(service mode → ventilation level). The selection
of the heat recovery or crosswise operating
modes, can be permanently changed with the
DS
45 RC
radio switch.
In automatic mode, the volumetric flow regulation
is always continuously variable and undertaken
using the
PPB 30 K
/
PPB 30 RC
humidity and
temperature values measured with the internal
humidity sensor.
Continuously variable regulation of the volumetric
flow takes place in a linear fashion between the
set humidity value limits of r.h.%=min (minimum
ventilation level) and r.h.%=max (maximum ventil-
ation level). Measurements from other sensors
only affect the volumetric flow regulation of the
PP 45
/
PPB 30 O
units (Fan1/Fan2 fan interface).
Dehumidification mode is possible via exhaust air
mode (45 m³/h) or intensive ventilation (ventilation
level 5). Dehumidification mode starts automatic-
ally when the maximum humidity limit value (in-
tensive ventilation) is exceeded. The ventilation
system then runs in exhaust air mode or intensive
ventilation until the value has fallen 3 % below the
limit value. Then the ventilation switches back to
demand-driven mode. For exhaust air mode →
haust air mode and intensive ventilation [
The “Max. humidity limit value” parameter can be
set by your specialist installer using the commis-
sioning software/service mode
7.6.2 System operation operating mode
For
PPB 30
In system operation, the ventilation system (all
PPB 30 K
and
PP 45
or
PPB 30 O
units) run with
all the settings undertaken on the
RLS 45 K
con-
trol.
PPB 30 RC
units are operated with the settings
on the

radio switch,

controller.
This includes heat recovery or cross-ventilation,
ventilation level, intermittent ventilation, sleep
function or External Off operating mode. Demand-
driven mode can be switched on and off manually

In contrast, the way in which the system behaves
when the maximum humidity value is exceeded is
not dependent on the set operating mode. The
