1 Safety
• Please read the instructions carefully before installing,
commissioning and using.
• Follow the instructions.
• Observe the enclosed safety instruction sheet for indus-
trial fans and the technical data.
• Pass these instructions on to the owner for safekeeping.
Specialist installers, qualifications, requirements
The fan may only be installed, set up, retrofitted, commis-
sioned, cleaned, serviced or repaired by
installers special-
ised in ventilation technology . Electrical connection, com-
missioning, maintenance and repairs may only be carried
out by a
qualified electrician in accordance with DGUV
regulation 3, Section 2 (3) and in compliance with the rel-
evant standards (e.g. DIN EN 50110-1) and technical rules.
Further provisions of other national laws must be taken
into account.
Qualifications, requirements: Specialist training and know-
ledge of compulsory technical standards, EU Directives and
EU Ordinances. The installations must be carried out pro-
fessionally. Applicable accident prevention regulations, oc-
cupational health and safety measures (protective clothing
in good repair etc.) must be observed. Installation work by
trainees is only permitted under the supervision of the
above-mentioned trained specialists.
2 Scope of delivery
EZR or DZR duct fan, cable grommets in the terminal box,
for EZR additionally a capacitor in the terminal box, these
installation and operating instructions, separate safety in-
struction sheet for industrial fans.
3 Intended use
EZR/DZR duct fans are used for air extraction or ventila-
tion in domestic or commercial areas. Example: Changing
rooms, foremen’s offices, workshops, manufacturing
plants, machine or workplace extraction systems, indus-
trial halls, laboratories, fitness rooms, restaurants or other
commercial premises. Any other or additional use shall be
deemed improper.
Operation of the EZR or DZR is only permissible:
• for a permanent installation in indoor areas;
• if installed on a wall or ceiling with sufficient load-bear-
ing capacity;
• with permanent electrical installation;
• with FU mounting foot matching the unit variant;
• between ducts with EL or ELA flexible cuffs;
• with ducts matching the nominal size (folded spiral-
seams duct), Ø 250 to Ø 600 depending on the unit vari-
ant;
• with GP vibration dampers for vibration damping on the
duct system;
• with free contact inlets or outlets with protection
against accidental contact in accordance with EN ISO
13857, for example with the
SGR protective grille.

5 Product information
5.1 Unit versions
EZR ... B, EZR 25/4 D: single-phase AC versions
DZR ... B, DZR 25/4 D: three-phase AC versions, pole-
changeable three-phase AC versions
5.2 Device features
• Duct fans with nominal diameters Ø 200 - 600 mm.
• Any installation position can be selected. Air extraction
or ventilation, depending on installation position.
• EZR/DZR are speed controllable. Exception: DZR 40/2 B
are not speed controllable.
• Reversing mode permitted. Flow rate in opposite air flow
direction reduced by around 35 %. For reversing switch

• Operating capacitor for EZR fans ready for connection in
terminal box.
• EZR/DZR are configured for continuous operation.
If the direction of rotation is changed fre-
quently, the motor may heat up impermissibly →
therefore avoid frequent changes of direction of
rotation.
5.3 Thermal overload protection
Thermal overload protection with temperature sensor in
the motor winding as a standard feature. In case of over-
load/overheating/blockage, the fan is automatically
switched off via an
external control device .
Exceptions: Overload protection for pole-changeable fans
and DZR 25/4 D varies depending on the application. Con-
