3.2 Product description
● EKR ventilation box with centrifugal duct fan, high
pressure model.
● With external motor, separated from the air flow of
the air medium. Therefore, it is not sensitive to hot,
greasy and polluted air streams.
● EKR standard model : The motor is controlled by
an external transformer, see Maico accessories,
e.g. the TRE 5-step transformer.
● EKR... FU Model with integrated frequency
converter for motor control.
● Motor designed for continuous operation.
● Pleasantly quiet thanks to double-wall housing.
● Unit is switched on/off with an external switch.
3.3 Intended use
● As an exhaust air box for the transport of medium to
larger air volumes with particularly high resistances.
● For deployment with extractor hoods, in large
kitchens, as an air extraction system for greasy or
oily air. Suitable for workplace or machine air
extraction.
● Fan for the transport of damp, polluted, greasy or
hot air within the scope of its performance
characteristics.
● A suitable filter should be installed upstream when
transporting dusty air.
● The ventilation box is a floor-mounted unit with
permitted installation position such that the exhaust
socket is directed up, to the right or to the left.
● The unit may only be operated, if protection against
accidental contact is guaranteed in accordance with
DIN EN 294.
● Direct installation on ventilation ducts is possible
through the connection socket. For nominal sizes of
Ø 200 to Ø 400 mm depending on the unit housing.
● External installation is only permitted with a
WSD 20-40 weather protection roof.
