Mackie DL1608 Reference Guide V1.2

File System
The DL1608 saves every parameter associated with its operation with the exception of the power switch,
gain and phone knobs. The current state of all parameters is constantly stored so the console powers
on in the same state as when it was turned off , just like an analog console.
The fi le system consists of the following:
(1) Current State
— When the DL1608 is turned on, it wakes in the state that it was in when it was
powered off , including channel images and solo.
(2) Snapshots (and Recall Safe)
— A snapshot is just that: a “photograph” of the current state of
the DL1608. Recall Safe allow channels to be removed from snapshot recall, leaving them unchanged.
Snapshots are stored and recalled from the console, but are accessed via the Master Fader app.
(3) Shows
— A show is made up of multiple snapshots in order. Multiple shows may be created,
but only one show is loaded at a time on the DL1608 hardware.
(4) Presets
—
Presets save input and output parameters on individual channels and on particular
DSP blocks such as EQ, dynamics, input, output, FX, etc. Presets are stored on the iPad, not the mixer.
Snapshots
As mentioned above, a snapshot is just that: a “photograph” of the current state of the DL1608
(except channel images and solo). That’s right, you get the full monty. The whole kit and caboodle.
The full ball of wax. The whole shebang. The full nine yards. Enough? Bottom line: a snapshot gives
you everything but the kitchen sink (and channel images and solo). Let’s move on.
Snapshots may be used to store cues for a complex show, settings for the opening act, settings for
the headliner, or for something as personal as a favorite starting point for using the console. There
are 99 possible snapshots per show.
The following is a list of features that may be snapshot:
• Input channel settings
• FX channel settings
• Aux channel settings
• Main LR channel settings
