Understanding Safety Signs
Safety sign decals use illustrations to convey important safety or equipment maintenance information.

General hazard pertaining to machine operation and servicing
DANGER
To prevent injury or death from improper or unsafe machine
operation:
•
Read the operator
’
s manual and follow all safety
instructions. If you do not have a manual, obtain one from
your Dealer.
•
Do
NOT
allow untrained persons to operate the machine.
•
Review the safety instructions with all Operators every year.
•
Ensure that all the safety signs are installed and legible.
•
Make certain everyone is clear of the machine before
starting the engine and during operation.
•
Keep riders off of the machine.
•
Keep all the shields in place and stay clear of moving parts.
•
Disengage the header drive, put the transmission in Neutral,
and wait for all movement to stop before leaving the
operator
’
s position.
•
Stop the engine and remove the key from the ignition
before servicing, adjusting, lubricating, cleaning, or
unplugging the machine.
•
Engage the safety locks to prevent a raised unit from falling
before servicing it in the raised position.
•
Use the slow moving vehicle emblem and flashing warning
lights when operating on roadways unless prohibited by law.

Header crushing hazard
DANGER
To prevent injury or death from fall of a raised header:
•
Fully raise the header, stop the engine, remove the key, and
engage the safety props on the combine before going under
header.
•
Alternately, rest the header on the ground, stop the engine,
and remove the key from the ignition.
