Figure 3.22: Spring Compression
IMPORTANT:
Continuous operation with excessive spring compression
(that is, load indicator reading greater than 4 or a
compressed length [A] less than 295 mm [11 5/8 in.]) can
result in damage to the suspension system.
15. Adjust the header angle to the desired working angle with
the machine
’
s header angle controls. If header angle is not
critical, set it to mid-position.
16. Use the windrower cab display module (CDM) controls to
automatically maintain cutting height. Refer to your
windrower operator
’
s manual for details.
Adjusting Stabilizer Wheels
A properly adjusted header will achieve a balance between the amount of header weight carried by the float and the
amount carried by the stabilizer wheels.
DANGER
To prevent bodily injury or death from the unexpected start-up of the machine, always stop the engine and remove the
key from the ignition before leaving the operator
’
s seat for any reason.
CAUTION
The handle may be under tension
—
especially when the wheels are on the ground. Raise the header until the wheels
are off the ground before making adjustments.
