All three kinds of messages have similar fields. For example:

Although some fields have the same label, the function of, and expected content, of each field
directly relates to the kind of message – outbound or inbound.
SOL and EOL are the only two fields with the same function in all three kinds of messages:

Start of Line (or start of message) character is the less than symbol (<).
EOL
End of Line (or end of message) character is C
