– Position the foot plate on the workpiece. The
foot plate should always be in contact with the
workpiece.
– Allow the saw blade to bite into the workpiece.
– Guide the saw blade with a moderate, constant
pressure through the workpiece.
– Switch the device off and allow the saw blade to
come to a complete standstill.
– Remove the saw blade from the workpiece.
Plunge sawing
– Only use short saw blades for plunge cuts.
– Place the device with the edge of the foot
plate (6) on the work piece in such a way that the
saw blade does not touch the work piece.
– Turn on the device.
– Press the device firmly up against the work piece
and slowly plunge the blade into the work piece.
– As soon as the foot plate is positioned flat on the
work piece, continue sawing along the required
cutting line.
Tips for sawing
– When sawing, the foot plate must rest safety and
fully on the work piece.
– When sawing metal, apply coolant or lubrication
to the cutting line.
– When sawing small or thin work pieces always
use a stable surface or a work bench.
Things to note when sawing plastic
– When sawing plastic, if possible, use a new
blade.
– When sawing, ensure speedy operation. If you
saw too slowly, the plastic will heat up, become
soft and adhere to the teeth of the blade. The cut
will be untidy and you will need to clean the
blade.
Things to note when sawing metal
– When sawing metal, use a special blade.
– Saw with a low but even speed.
– When cutting profiles, start cutting at the thin
side.
– When cutting U-shaped profiles, start cutting at
the closed side.

Troubleshooting
What to do when something doesn’t work…
In many cases, small defects can lead to a malfunc-
tion. You will usually be able to deal with these your-
self. Please refer to the table below before contact-
ing your local dealer. This may save you a lot of effort
and quite often money.
If you are unable to eliminate the error yourself,
please contact your local dealer directly. Please
remember that repairs carried out by non-profes-
sionals will invalidate your warranty claim and may
cause additional costs.
Disposal
Disposal of the appliance
Appliances which are labelled with the adja-
cent symbol must not be disposed of in
household waste. You must dispose of such
old electrical and electronic equipment sep-
arately.
– Please check with your local authority about the
possibilities for correct disposal.
Through separate disposal you send old equipment
for recycling or for other forms of re-use. You will
thus help to avoid in some cases that damaging
material gets into the environment.
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging consists of cardboard and
correspondingly marked plastics that can
be recycled.
– Make these materials available for
recycling.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit!
A
plunge cut can only be made in softer
materials (e. g. wood, plasterboard). For
harder materials, a hole must be drilled that
is suitable for the saw blade.
What?
How?
Clean the ventilation slots
of the motor to remove
dust.
Use a vacuum, cleaning
brush or paint brush.
Clean the device.
Wipe the unit with a damp
cloth.
DANGER! Risk of injury!
Unprofessional
repairs may mean that your unit will no
longer operate safely. This endangers you
and your environment.
