Replacing the air filter
– Loosen the locking for the upper
cover (23).
– Pull the cover for the air filter and spark
plug (3) on the back upwards and remove
it.
– Remove the air filter (24).
– Replace the cleaned or new air filter.
– Replace the cover for air filter and spark
plug (3) and tighten the locking for the
upper cover (23) again by hand.
Cleaning/replacing the spark plug
– Loosen the locking for the upper
cover (23).
– Pull the cover for the air filter and spark
plug (3) on the back upwards and remove
it.
– Remove the air filter (24).
– Remove the spark plug connector (25)
and unscrew the spark plug with a suita-
ble tool.
– Check the electrode for discolouration.
Standard colour: light brown
– Check the electrode distance. Correct
distance: 0.635 mm
– Remove rust accumulations from the
electrode with a wire brush.
– Insert cleaned or new spark plug and
tighten by hand.
– Tighten hand-tightened spark plug
slightly with a suitable tool. Do not tighten
spark plug too tight, since otherwise the
threads will be damaged.
– Replace the spark plug connector (25)
firmly on the spark plug.
– Replace the air filter.
– Replace the cover for air filter and spark
plug (3) and tighten the locking for the
upper cover (23) again by hand.
Storage and transport
Storage
– Let the device cool down before you
store it.
– Store the device as horizontally as possi-
ble. Make sure that no fuel-oil mixture
can run out of the carburetor.
Longer downtimes
– Empty the tanks for the fuel-oil mixture
and saw chain oil.
– Start the motor and let it run until the
motor switches off by itself (
– Let the motor cool down (approx. 5 min).
– Remove the spark plug (
replacing the spark plug – p. 18).
– Let a teaspoon of clean two-stroke motor
oil run into the combustion chamber.
– Pull the pull-starter slowly several times
in order to coat the internal components
with the oil.

Transport in a vehicle
If you are transporting the device in a vehicle:
– Let the device cool down.
– Empty the tanks for the fuel-oil mixture
and saw chain oil.
– Secure the device against slipping.

Replace
the spark plug only with a new spark
plug of the same type (
NOTICE! Device damage!
To clean
the spark plug, use only wire brushes
with brass bristles. Bristles of any
other material will damage the elec-
trode!

Make sure
that unauthorized persons do not
have access to the device!
NOTICE! Device damage!
If you are
not going to be using the device for a
while, remove the fuel and chain oil
from the device. This way, you will
prevent a gumming-up of the motor
and of the grease pump.
Store the device in a dry place and
far away from possible sources of
ignition such as ovens, gas thermo-
stats, etc.
WARNING! Risk of injury!
Before
transporting the unit, fit the protec-
tive cover over the saw rail.
