Equipment Installation
Equipment Bays, Frames, and Cabinets
Equipment Bays Common equipment bay and shelf configurations used with WaveStar OLS 40G
installations are:
1. Integrated bay: consists of one OLS shelf, one OT system shelf, and one
OT complimentary shelf premounted in the bay frame
2. OT bay: consists of one OT system shelf and two OT complimentary
shelves premounted in the bay frame
3. Miscellaneously mounted OLS shelf used for Repeater applications
4. Miscellaneously mounted OT shelves used to complete OT capacity at end
terminals or wavelength add/drop (dual facing) terminals
5. Rack and Stack Configurations consisting of 2-Bay, 3-Bay, or 5-Bay
systems
Refer to Chapter 7, Ordering; OLS Package Descriptions, of the Application
Planning Ordering Guide (APOG) for additional descriptions of the WaveStar OLS
40G equipment bays and shelves.
Frame Types The WaveStar OLS 40G equipment bays may be ordered in the Lucent Seismic
Network Bay Frame (ED-8C800-50 or ED8C801) or in the Lucent cabinets.
Additionally, the equipment may be miscellaneously mounted in the Seismic
Network Bay Frame, Lucent Cabinets, the Newton Instrument Seismic Network
Frame (#0047011110), the Lucent ETSI Frame (comcode 848292264) or ETSI
compatible racks.
