Installing the
WavePOINT-II AP
Introduction

This chapter describes how to:
■
Install the ORiNOCO WavePOINT-II AP hardware.
■
Install the ORiNOCO network interface(s).
■
Power up the device to start operation in Basic Access mode.
To install the ORiNOCO WavePOINT-II AP you will need:
■
One ORiNOCO WavePOINT-II AP unit.
■
One or more ORiNOCO PC Card(s).
■
(Optional) An Ethernet backbone
(either 10Base-T or 10Base2).
WavePOINT-II AP Placement

You can mount the WavePOINT-II AP on a vertical surface like a wall or
place the unit on a flat surface such as a table or cabinet.
Prior to mounting it to a fixed location, you may consider performing a site
survey to determine optimal placement for your access point unit(s).
