Serial and Modem Connection Settings

Select Serial if you are connecting to the remote CMS through a serial
connection, Modem if you are connecting to the remote CMS through a
modem. An example of standard settings for a serial or modem connection
is shown below:
Enter the following required information for this setting:

Port—choose from the pull-down list the communication (COM) port
you will use to connect to the CMS server. The options are COM1,
COM2, COM3, and COM4.
●
Baud Rate—choose the baud rate from the pull-down list. The
options are 110, 300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, and 19.2K.
●
Flow Control—choose the appropriate flow control from the pull-
down list. The options are None, Xon/Xoff (software), Rts/Cts
(hardware), or Both.
●
Parity—choose the appropriate parity setting from the pull-down list.
The options are None, Odd, Even, Mark, and Space.
