3 Hour Maintained Emergency Drop Light
We are delighted that you have purchased this Light fitting. Please read this instruction manual before installation and retain
for the user/maintenance engineer for future reference.
Our products are designed to comply with the recommendations of BS EN 60598-1:2008 code of practice for emergency
lighting of premises and be installed by a competent person in accordance with the relevant wiring regulations.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Installation must be carried out by a skilled/competent electrician who is familiar with the appropriate standards and
technical requirements of the appliance and also taking in to consideration the latest building regulations.
Not suitable for use with dimmer switches, Install in accordance with I.E.E. Wiring Regulations.
This product
must be
earthed and
NOT
be subject to an electrical insulation test (500/1000v)
Please note: - The LED s contained in this fitting are not designed to be replaced.
The fitting is an un-switched maintained fitting i.e. the LED lamp will be permanently lit and cannot be used a non-maintained
operation.
This luminaire is suitable only for indoor use in dry locations. If operation is required in damp, dusty or corrosive locations
care must be taken to select a suitable fitting for the location.
INSTALLATION
Before starting the installation ensure that the electricity supply is isolated and that it cannot be re-energised accidentally
1) Find a suitable location to install the fitting.
2) Undo screws at either end of ceiling box and remove cover.
3) Un plug multi connector and use the case of ceiling box as template and mount in required location.
4) Thread mains cable through rear of case with appropriate cable protection, i.e. glanding and connect into terminal block
and completing terminating connections.
5) Re connect multi plug connector and re fit ceiling box cover with screws supplied.
6) Restore the supply and check that the green LED indicator illuminates to confirm the batteries are charging
7) Allow a short period for part charging of the batteries and then isolate the mains supply to the fitting in order to check the
correct operation of the fitting in emergency mode. It is recommended to initially charge batteries for 36 hours from new to
ensure full emergency duration is achieved.
COMMISSIONING
This luminaire has an integral test facility located on the side of the fitting indicated by 3 LED’s. To check the Emergency
operation of the fitting, press and hold the button marked test. The LEDs mark “C” and “T” should extinguish and the fitting
should remain lit. The luminaire is now in emergency mode and is operating from the internal batteries. To return to normal
operation release the test button the LEDs mark “C” and “T” should relight and the luminaire should remain lit. The luminaire
is now back in its normal operation mode.
Please note: - When in emergency mode the luminaire will not appear as bright as when in normal operation
