The Boot Screen
How To Access
You can prevent the boot program from launching the LPL operating system
by powering on with
escape
held down. If you do this, the display will show
the Boot Screen
You can also get to the Boot Screen at any time by pressing
shift
ctrl
escape
This is quite drastic, since it restarts the computer (like
ctrl
alt
del
in DOS).
While in the Boot Screen, the program will respond to inputs typed on the
keyboard, and from inputs from the Comm Port. In fact, all messages printed
on the display are also echoed to the Comm Port.
Boot Screen Functions
Although some of the items in the Boot Screen are for factory technician use,
there are items that you may find useful:

for LPL is described in the next section.
