With 10 parallel bridging ports (i.e., 10 distinct collision domains), these
switches can collapse a complex network down into a single efficient
bridged node, increasing overall bandwidth and throughput.
In the figure below, the 10/100/1000BASE-T ports on the switch are
providing 1000 Mbps connectivity for up to 8 segments, while the
1000BASE-SFP ports are providing connectivity for 2 Gigabit segments.
