If the master warning light comes on, a message appears on
the multi

information display.  Depending on the conditions a

warning tone may sound.  (See “Warning messages” on page
102 for instructions.)

Electric Power Steering System Warning Light

This light comes on when the power steering control system
fails.

CAUTION

If this light comes on, take your vehicle to the Lexus
dealer as soon as possible.  In this case, you may feel
the heavy steering wheel maneuvering.  Drive your
vehicle while gripping the steering wheel firmly.

“ABS” Warning Light 

The light comes on when the ignition key is turned to the “ON”
position.  If the anti

−

lock brake system function of the VDIM

(vehicle dynamics integrated management) are working
properly, the light turns off when the “READY” light comes on.
Thereafter, if the function malfunctions, the light comes on
again.

When the “ABS” warning light and the yellow brake system
warning light are on, the anti

−

lock brake system function and

the brake assist function of the VDIM do not operate.  In this
case the wheels may lock up during a sudden braking or when
braking on slippery road surfaces.  However, the brake system
still operates conventionally.

When the “ABS” warning light is on and the yellow brake
system warning light is off, the anti

−

lock brake system function

of the VDIM does not operate so that the wheels may lock up
during sudden braking or when braking on slippery road
