Hybrid system output restriction when the accelerator pedal and brake
pedal are depressed at the same time

Purpose of the brake override system

If the accelerator pedal and brake pedal are depressed at the same time, the brake
override system may operate and restrain the hybrid system output. A warning
message is displayed on the multi-information display while the system is operating.

WARNING

To avoid depressing the wrong pedal, become familiar with the location of the brake
pedal and accelerator pedal before driving the vehicle.
If the accelerator pedal is mistaken for the brake pedal and depressed, the vehicle may
suddenly start off.

NOTICE

Do not depress the accelerator pedal and brake pedal at the same time while driving, as
this may cause the hybrid system output to be restrained.
