Sensor Tests
These tests are used to verify if the paper tray sensors are working properly.
Tray [x] Paper Low Sensor Test
Note: This test appears as Tray [x] Paper Sensor Test in the Manufacturing Test menu.
To perform this test:
1.
From the Manufacturing Test menu, navigate to Tray [x] Paper Sensor Test .
2.
Load paper into the tray. Increase, and reduce the number of paper to test if the paper low sensor
can accurately read the current state.
3.
Touch or to exit the test, and return to the Manufacturing Test menu.
Tray [x] Paper Out Sensor Test
To perform this test:
1.
From the Manufacturing Test menu, navigate to Tray [x] Paper Out Sensor Test .
2.
Load and then remove paper in the tray to test if the paper out sensor can accurately read the current
state.
3.
Touch or to exit the test, and return to the Manufacturing Test menu.
Calibrate ADF Scanner
This initiates the ADF scan bar calibration routine. The calibration sheet feeds through the ADF, and stops while
calibration is running. The calibration page will exit from the ADF once calibration is complete.
To perform this procedure:
1.
From the Manufacturing Test menu, navigate to Calibrate ADF Scanner .
2.
Load letter-size paper into the ADF input tray.
3.
Calibration process occurs.
4.
Test Complete
appears on the display.
5.
Touch or to exit the test, and return to the Manufacturing Test menu.
Result
Paper High in Tray [x]
When more than 30 sheets are detected by the sensor.
Paper Low in Tray [x]
When 1–30 sheets are detected by the sensor.
Result
Paper In in Tray [x]
When paper is detected by the sensor.
Paper Out in Tray [x]
When paper is not detected by the sensor.
