Ink Level Test
This test checks if the firmware can read the ink level and ink out pins located within the BPD. There are four
pins that translate to four different ink levels. There are two pins that detect ink out.
Running this test shows the ink level readings and ink out readings independently.
The possible values for ink levels are: 0, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and Error. The possible values for ink out are: Empty, Not
Empty, and Error.
To perform this test:
1.
From the Manufacturing Test menu, navigate to
Online System Test
.
2.
The ink levels and ink out readings appear on the display.
Note:
Values on the left are returned from the ink level sense. Values on the right are returned from ink
out sense. If an invalid value is returned, then
Error
appears.
3.
Touch
or
to exit the test, and return to the Manufacturing Test menu.
Tank Receiver Test
This test verifies if the printer can communicate with the chip embedded in each tank. This test only checks
communication and does not necessarily checks for security.
Running this test shows the current status for each tank. The possible status values are pass or fail.
To perform this test:
1.
From the Manufacturing Test menu, navigate to
Tank Receiver Test
.
2.
The status of each tank appear on the display.
Note:
Each tank should pass if the firmware is able to successfully connect to the tank and communicate,
otherwise it fails.
3.
Touch
or
to exit the test, and return to the Manufacturing Test menu.
Printhead E-Test
This test performs functional testing of the PH electrical connection between the ASIC and the printhead after
the printhead is assembled to the machine.
Possible return values for this test are: Pass, Fail, or Error.
To perform this test:
1.
From the Manufacturing Test menu, navigate to
Printhead E-Test
.
2.
A wait screen appears.
3.
The test results appear on the screen.

Pass
appears when the target temperature was reached.
•
Fail
appears when the target temperature was not reached.
•
Error
appears when the test was not completed due to error.
4.
Touch
or
to exit the test, and return to the Manufacturing Test menu.
