Power-On Self Test (POST) Sequence
When you plug the printer into a power source, it performs a POST.
The POST operation goes through the following steps:
1. DRAM and ROM memories are checked.
2. The lines between the Controller Board and the Engine Board
are checked.
3. The carrier moves to the left, then to the right over the mainte-
nance station and seals the printheads.
4. The paper feed gears turn.
5. All motors stop, the busy light blinks and turns off and the power
light stays on.
If your printer completes POST with no errors, go to the “Symptom
Tables” on page 2-5 , locate the symptom and take the indicated
action.
If your printer does not complete POST, locate the symptom in the
following table and take the indicated action.
