3. Diagnostic Aids
Testing The Printer
Diagnostic Aids are divided into two types of functions: Controller
Diagnostics, and Service Adjustment Mode. In addition, some test
prints can be run from the operator mode.
The tests are provided for printer testing and diagnostics. The printer
does not need to be attached to a host system to use the tests.
Using The Menu System
There is one menu in the printer, with two levels of display.
When the top level of menus is displayed, the display shows the cur-
rent menu on the top line, and the current item on the bottom line.
When the lower level of menus is displayed, the display shows the
current item on the top line, and the current value for that item on the
bottom line.

To move from the top level to the lower level of the menu, press
the Select button.
•
To move from the lower level to the top level of the menu, press
Alt + Select.
•
To scroll through the top line menu items, press Menu or Alt +
Menu (Menu -).
•
To scroll through the lower line menu items, press List+ or Alt +
List+ (List -).
