10.2 Starting the device
Connect the +18 … 30VDC supply voltage (typ. +24VDC); the BCL 358

starts up and the bar code
reading window appears on the display.
Deviations from these settings must be set via the webConfig tool. See "Leuze webConfig tool" on
page 72.
As a first step, you need to set the communication parameters of the BCL 358

.
10.3 Setting the communication parameters
With the communication parameters, you determine how data is exchanged between BCL 358

and host
system. The communication parameters are independent of the topology in which the BCL 358

is oper

ated. See "Ethernet topologies" on page 66.
On delivery, the automatic address assignment via DHCP server is defined as the standard setting of the
BCL 358

.
