Remove a hot-swap fan
Use this procedure to remove a hot-swap fan.

Hazardous energy present. Voltages with hazardous energy might cause heating when shorted with
metal, which might result in spattered metal, burns, or both.
Before removing a hot-swap-fan:
1. Read the safety information and installation guidelines (see “Safety” on page iii and “Installation
2. If the server is installed in a rack, slide the server out on its rack slide rails to gain access to the top
cover, or remove the server from the rack.

4. Remove the top cover (see “Remove the top cover” on page 130).
To remove a hot-swap-fan, complete the following steps:
Step 1. Pinch on the top of the fan, and press on the latch to release the fan from the connector.
