Chapter 5 Setting up a Two-Tier System

Accessing or Exiting 2nd-Tier Channels

The only method to access the 2nd-tier channels is the OSD's Selection Menu. To return to the 

base switch's channels, you also have to operate the Selection Menu.

Accessing the 2nd-tier channels

1. If the OSD is not displayed, press the hot key 3 times.

The default hot key is 'Scroll Lock.' To change it, see 

System Settings

 on 

page 24

.

2. On the Selection Menu, press 

 or 

 to select the channel where the 2nd-tier switch 

you want to access is connected.

A channel connected to a 2nd-tier switch is marked with the .

If the desired 2nd-tier switch is not listed on the current page, press Page Down or 

Page Up.

3. Press Enter. The Selection Menu of the selected 2nd-tier switch appears, showing a list 

of 2nd-tier channels.

4. Select the desired channel and press Enter.

5. The video of the selected channel displays on the screen, with its channel ID shown for 

seconds. See

Now you can view or control the server being accessed.

Returning to the base switch from a 2nd-tier channel:

1. If the OSD is not displayed, press the hot key 3 times.

2. On the Selection Menu, press the letter 'R'.

You can press the uppercase 'R' or lowercase 'r' because this hot key is NOT case 

sensitive.

3. The Selection Menu of the base switch appears, showing a list of the base switch's 

channels.
