Chapter 3 Installation

Step B: Connect Servers

Connecting servers to the 1754-A1T switch:

1. Connect one ThinkSystem USB conversion cables for Analog KVM cable to the server.

a) Plug the ThinkSystem USB conversion cables for Analog KVM cable's USB connector

into one of the server's USB ports.

b) Plug the ThinkSystem USB conversion cables for Analog KVM cable's video connector

into the server's video port.

Tip:

If the ThinkSystem USB conversion cables for Analog KVM cable you purchase is

not compatible with the video port on your server, the alternative solution is to

connect a video converter or adapter to ThinkSystem USB conversion cables for

Analog KVM. Lenovo offers an active ThinkSystem VGA to DVI Conversion Cable,

order part number 4X97A11108.



Optionally, plug the ThinkSystem USB conversion cables for Analog KVM cable's

audio connector into the server's audio output port.

2. Connect the server to the 1754-A1T switch.



ThinkSystem USB conversion cables for Analog KVM cable: Simply plug the RJ-45 end

of the ThinkSystem USB conversion cables for Analog KVM cable into any channel

port.
