Management Panel
The
following
parts
comprise
the
management
panel.
Micro-USB Type B Serial Console Port
The
micro
‐
USB
Type
B
serial
console
port
on
the
front
management
panel
is
available
for
switch
console
management.
The
port
operates
using
RS
‐
232
serial
communications.
A
compatible
console
kit
is
included
with
the
switch.
To
connect
a
computer
or
terminal
to
the
switch
using
the
included
kit,
connect
one
end
of
the
micro
‐
USB
Type
B
to
USB
Type
A
serial
console
cable
to
the
micro
‐
USB
Type
B
serial
console
port
on
the
switch
and
the
other
end
of
the
console
cable
to
the
computer
or
terminal
(see
the
following
illustration).

On
the
computer
or
terminal,
the
USB
Type
A
serial
console
port
appears
as
a
serial
communication
port
when
the
connection
to
the
switch
micro
‐
USB
Type
B
serial
console
port
is
established.
RJ45 Serial Console Port
The
RJ45
console
port
on
the
front
management
panel
is
available
for
switch
console
management.
The
port
operates
using
RS
‐
232
serial
communications.
A
compatible
console
kit
is
included
with
the
switch.
To
connect
a
computer
or
terminal
to
the
switch
using
the
included
kit,
connect
one
end
of
the
RJ45
‐
to
‐
DB9
serial
console
cable
to
the
RJ45
console
port
on
the
switch
and
the
other
end
of
the
console
cable
to
the
computer
or
terminal
(see
the
following
illustration).

Note:
If
you
connect
to
the
switch
using
both
console
ports
(RJ45
and
micro
‐
USB
Type
B)
at
the
same
time,
the
RJ45
console
port
connection
is
terminated.
The
micro
‐
USB
console
port
has
a
higher
priority
than
the
RJ45
console
port
and
disconnects
the
RJ45
console
session.
