11. Reinstall the battery. See “Replacing the battery” on page 123.
12. Turn the computer over again. Connect the ac power adapter and all cables.
After you replace the coin-cell battery, reset the system date and time in the ThinkPad Setup program.

Replacing the keyboard
Before you start, print these instructions and read “Important safety information” on page vi.
To remove the keyboard, do the following:
1. Turn off the computer. Then disconnect the ac power adapter and all cables from the computer.
2. Close the computer display and turn the computer over.
3. Remove the battery. See “Replacing the battery” on page 123.
4. Find the keyboard multi-tool in the shipping package of the new keyboard. The following illustration
shows a keyboard multi-tool.
5. Remove the rubber caps.
