Operations
commands
generally
affect
switch
performance
immediately,
but
do
not
alter
permanent
switch
configurations.
For
example,
you
can
use
Operations
commands
to
immediately
disable
a
port
(without
the
need
to
apply
or
save
the
change),
with
the
understanding
that
when
the
switch
is
rebooted,
the
port
returns
to
its
normally
configured
operation.
These
commands
enable
you
to
alter
switch
operational
characteristics
without
affecting
switch
configuration.
