D1024/D1012 Storage Enclosure rear panel components
D1012/D1024 Storage Enclosures support SFF D1024 24-disk and LFF D1012 12-disk Storage Enclosures
in the 2U form factor. These Storage Enclosures use mini-SAS (SFF-8088) connectors to facilitate backend
SAS expansion. The rear panel view is common to both Storage Enclosures. See
on page 25 for cabling information.

IMPORTANT:
The illustration above shows dual ESMs. D1024 and D1012 Storage Enclosures can be
configured with single or dual ESMs. If the D1012/D1024 Storage Enclosure is configured with a single
ESM, it must be installed in the upper slot, and an ESM blank must be installed in the lower slot. This
configuration is required to allow sufficient air flow through the enclosure during operation.
