2 Description
2.1 Overview
The speed and position sensors are intended to be used for the contactless measure-
ment of rotary and linear movements predominantly in machines, gears, motors or high-
speed spindles.

The integrated electronics are supplied with power via the connection cable (3). The
screen connection cable (7), which is separate on some types, is mounted at a suitable
point on the carrier plate and in this way ensures clean earthing. The screen plate (6)
supplied must be fitted to MiniCODERs with a plastic housing to increase the electro-
magnetic immunity.
The MiniCODER has a magnetic field that is changed by the rotating target wheel. The
sensor acquires the change in the magnetic field and the integrated electronics convert
this information into appropriate output signals.
