TWIN
The STEREO
input channels of the
TWIN
have been designed and built
to facilitate the handling of the ever-increasing number of
stereo units
:
keyboards, samplers, expanders, CD decks, etc.
During normal use, these units would occupy
2 input channels
each, even
if they very frequently require the exact
same treatment
for LEFT &
RIGHT signals (equalization, monitoring, processing with effects units,
etc.). Therefore the STEREO channels not only makes working with stereo
equipment signals easier and faster, but in fact considerably increases the
number of inputs available, without changing the units size.
The STEREO input channels can also be used for the STEREO return of
outboard effects units. It is therefore possible, if necessary to regulate the signal
processed using the channel EQ and is also possible to assign this signal to
the MIX L&R outputs and the MON PRE-FADER, obtaining an effects
return on the MONITORS.
The
TWIN
s STEREO channels can also be used with MONO signals, using
only the LEFT connector for input. On the STEREO Channels, the LEFT
& RIGHT signals are completely distinct, even if they use the same controls:
in fact all the pots effect the two parts of the signal, keeping them divided,
with the sole exception of the REV\AUX1, MULTI\AUX2 & MON sends, which act
on a signal made up of the
sum
of LEFT and RIGHT.
TWIN
has 2 STEREO input channels: since the MONO and STEREO
channels only have a few operating differences, in this chapter only the
latter will be discussed, while reference should be made to the previous
chapter for the remaining functions.
