LINE
c) AUX Section
The AUX section of the MONO input channel has
3
auxiliary sends:
MON, REV\AUX1 & MULTI\AUX2.
MON
MONITOR send volume control:
controls the quantity of signal of each
channel sent to the MONITOR master (see
é
MASTER section
) and
therefore to the MONITOR OUT output.
You can connect one or more powered monitors to this output, or one or
more systems made up of power ampl monitor (remember, in fact that
even if there is just one line, several monitors connected in series or in parallel
can be used: on this subject, on this subject, always consult the monitors
technical specifications and instructions and if necessary those of the power amps being
used).
The MONITOR send is
PRE-FADER
: this means that it takes the signal
before it is controlled by the channel FADER for being sent to the L&R
MIX outputs. In this way, its possible to have a monitor mix which is
completely independent from that of the main sound system can be done.
Since during live performance musicians listening conditions and requirements
are almost always different from that of the audience, different mixes are
frequently done: for example, if the stage is small, it may be useless to include
the sound of an acoustic drum kit in the monitor mix, but it could be very
useful to have the volume of other instruments much higher in the monitors than in the
FOH system.
Moreover, since the MONITOR send is completely independent from the channel fader,
its even possible to add or eliminate instruments compared with those heard in the main
system (for example a click track, something which is sometimes very useful for musicians,
but definitely shouldnt be heard by the audience): to do this, just connect the instrument
in question to a channel and set the FADER at the closed
(¥)
position and the
MONITOR send at the volume required in the monitor. Remember that the MONITOR
send is also POST-EQ, i.e. the signal its sends to the monitors has already been processed
by the channel EQ.
REV \ AUX1 & MULTI \ AUX2
Control for the REV\AUX1 & MULTI\AUX2 level.
Have the following effect:
REV\AUX1
é
Controls the signal sent to the
REVERB section of
the DSP Twin
and
the AUX OUT 1
output.
MULTI\AUX2
é
Controls the signal sent to the
MULTIEFFECT
section of the DSP Twin
and
the AUX OUT 2
output.
