Cutter Blades - Check
Check that each cutter blade pivots freely on each mower disc. Check for bent,
broken, cracked, or dull blades. Check for bent, broken, cracked, or loose blade
retaining clips. Replace before using mower.
Blades are reversible; they can be flipped over and re-used.
NOTICE: Check condition of blade pins when reversing blades. Replace if worn or
damaged.
New blade retaining clips are included with new Lely blades and need not be
ordered separately. Always use new blade retaining clips when replacing blades.

Shields and Guards - Check that all shields and guards are installed and are fastened securely to
machine. Replace or repair any shields or guards that are damaged or have missing parts.
Safety Signs - Check machine for any worn or missing safety signs or operating decals (refer to the Parts
Manual for replacement parts).
Hardware - Check machine for loose, worn, or missing parts and hardware. Tighten any loose parts and
replace any worn or missing parts (refer to the Parts Manual for replacement parts).
Frame - Check frame and contact dealer immediately if you notice any bends, cracks, or breaks.
Reflectors - Check that reflectors are present. Replace missing or damaged reflective materials (refer to
the Parts Manual ).
Curtains - Check curtains for holes, rips, tears, or wear. Refer to “Curtains - Check/Replace,” page 50-37 .

Universal Joints
Check for cracks and remove any mud or other material that is wedged in joints. Replace any worn or
cracked parts (refer to the
Parts Manual for replacement parts).
WARNING: Do not operate this mower with bent, broken, or cracked blades which could break
loose from machine and injure you.
Do not resharpen blades since this will affect the strength of the blades and may cause them to
break.
Use only Lely blades. Other blades may lack strength or be incompatible with Blade Retention
system. Blade failure or loss of blades may occur if the wrong blades are used. This could result in
serious injury or death.
Be sure to install blades correctly.
Always replace both blades on a disc to avoid imbalance.
