GPRS / Internet Devices
Description
GPRS is a telecommunication standard for transmitting data packages using the

nternet
P
rotocol.
When using GPRS technology charges are made based on the amount of transferred data
and not as for normal digital cellular phones where charges are made for the connection
time.
Typical uses
To access the Internet with a receiver in order to receive real-time data from the
Internet.

This is an example use for receiving data from the Internet.
1.
Rover must be equipped with a GPRS / Internet device.

The GPRS / Internet device accesses the Internet where the rover connects for
example to NTRIP.

The rover receives real-time corrections from this other computer in the Internet.

• SIM card. This is the same SIM card as normally used in mobile phones. The SIM card
