AutoLoader Specifications
The AutoLoader can contain up to 400
1-inch x 3-inch (2.54 cm x 7.62 cm)
slides and has been designed to work with many
commonly available glass microscope slides. The dimensions of a slide must be such that each slide fits easily into an
AutoLoader rack slot and can be securely loaded onto and unloaded from the stage by the AutoLoader.
Please ensure that your slides meet these specifications prior to use of the AutoLoader:
1
Slide width
0.968 inches (24.6 mm) to 1.043 inches (26.5 mm)
Slide length
2.898 inches (73.6 mm) to 3.016 inches (76.6 mm)
Maximum thickness including coverslip and
label
0.058 inches (1.48 mm)
Scanning region
22.9 mm (top to bottom edges) x 54.9 mm (measured from the right edge of the slide)
Successful scans require well prepared slides. See
“Slide Preparation Tips” on page 15
for slide preparation guidelines.

. Slide dimensions are approximate, and are affected by the presence of excessive mounting media, overhanging coverslips, and label thickness.
In all cases, it is up to the user to load slides which fit easily and smoothly into the AutoLoader rack. Failure to follow this advice may result in
damage to specimens and/or the AutoLoader mechanism.
