2.2 Adding/Deleting Areas
Use the left-side panel to add or delete areas. Click on the ‘+” button to add an area. The new area is
added at the end of the list. To delete an area, select the area and click on the ‘-’ button or the delete
button on your keyboard. In the DTM-MA system, areas are identified by their name and number.
The DTM-MA primarily uses area names, SDE stations and the MIO use area numbers. A newly
added area is empty. Configure the area, setting it’s name and adding zones, as needed.
2.3 Configure Area
Click on an area name in the left-side panel to view and edit parameters for that area.
2.3.1 Area table

number: 1 to 8. The area number matches the area number set at remote stations and the MIO.
For example, if Room A is area #1, set the area number to “1”, then set all remote stations in
Room A to “1”. Every area must have a unique area number. Areas will be ordered by
number when configuration editing is done.
• name: 1 to 10 characters. Areas should have unique names.
•
zones: 0 – 1024. The number of zones in the area, starting at number 1. The total number of
zones, across all areas, is 1024.
◦ Zones can be patched to no more than 512 channels of DMX. ‘Extra’ zones can be used to
lay out zone pages on the Zones tab of the DTM-MA so they are more easily controlled.
