Compatibility:
These bags are compatible with 2018 Softail models with shorter strut bolt spacing. This Includes the Fat
Bob, Slim, Street Bob, and Low Rider. Turn signals can be left in the stock position. They are also compatible with
hard mount and detachable backrests. These bags have been designed to work with the stock, and most exhaust
systems (not the Fat Bob stock exhaust). Exercise caution when mounting these bags with aftermarket exhaust
systems. Hot exhaust blowing directly at the fabric or plastic will melt it. Additional shielding may be necessary
for some exhausts.
Instructions
Mounting the studs
DO NOT
use any bolts but those supplied with this kit. Using other bolts with different head shapes may cause your
bags to fall off and voids your warranty. If you are having problems mounting your bags, please contact us and we
will do our best to help you.
Replacing the bolts on the strut one at a time, you will use 2 ¼ ” bolts with a ¾” machined spacer (docking point)
followed by a ¾ ” chrome spacer. If you are using a detachable sissy bar, you will use the 2 ¾ ” bolts with a ¾”
machined spacer, followed by a ¼ “ chrome spacer, then the Harley Davidson Holdfast docking points.
Replace the bolts on your bike one at a time so the fender doesn’t drop. Use blue loctite on the threads when
attaching the new bolts.
Correct setup of bolts for different applications
(TOP) With Harley holdfast hardware, note the ¼ “ chrome spacer in between
the ¾” machined docking point and the Holdfast sleeve on a 2 ¾ “ bolt.
(Bottom) Without Harley holdfast hardware, just use the ¾ “ machined
docking point and the ¾ “ large diameter chrome spacer and 2 ¼ “ bolt.
