13.6
System -> Definition -> Parameter = Fader
This branch of the ‘Tree Definition’ sets options for the console’s faders:
Parameter
Fader – reference name for the element.
Use Scale +9dB
Use Scale 0dB
Assigns input control signals to switch between fader scales.
The default fader scale, with nothing entered in either box, is to +9dB.
To permanently set the console to a fader scale, assign a logic element which will always
be true – for example, a
Ref Src Faderoffset
When a source is assigned to the control surface, a reference source can be assigned at
the same time. This value defines the position at which the reference source will be
assigned, as an offset from the current source position. For example, on a control surface
with 20 fader strips and 2 layers, if you wish the reference source to be assigned on the
alternate layer, you would enter a fader offset of 20.
Snap Load Fader max
Enter the maximum fader number which will be loaded from snapshots and internal
memories. Any fader above this number will not be loaded. Leave the field blank to load all
faders.
Snap Load Audio Always
If ticked, audio-related parameters are loaded for all faders regardless of the Snap Load
Fader max entry. If unticked, audio-related parameters are only loaded up to the
Snap
Load Fader max
.
You can use option to load audio-related parameters from all faders, while loading fader
strip assignments up to the
Snap Load Fader max
.
Audio-related parameters include User Labels, DSP Settings, Fader level (if
Save Value
is
ticked) and Bus assignments.
Save Value
Select this checkbox if you wish fader levels to be stored and recalled by snapshots and
memories. Saving of fader levels is recommended for production systems, but not for on-
air to avoid accidental recalls during a live transmission. Note that if the checkbox is
ticked, fader levels and parameters may be loaded when a fader is open.
If the checkbox is ticked, you can also unassign a source or change the assignment if the
fader is open. (If unticked, you must close the fader before changing a source).
Show Group Fader Values
Select this checkbox to show the level adjustment applied to VCA slaves in the fader strip
display when you move a VCA master. See Console Operation: Working with VCAs.
