7.6 Calibrating the temperature probe
Only carry out the steps described here using a reference thermom-
eter that has been calibrated for the required degree of accuracy.
Otherwise you will not achieve a sufficiently accurate measurement
result and you should not change the factory calibration of the
constant temperature equipment.
If, when checking the temperature in a steady state, you discover a constant
temperature deviation of T
int
or T
ext
from the reference thermometer, you
can equal this out using the
Calibration
menu point.
With the menu point
Offset
(1-point comparison), the characteristic of the
temperature switch is adjusted in parallel by the input value. With the menu
point
2-point calibration
(2-point comparison), the characteristic of the
temperature switch is adjusted and the slope of the characteristic is changed.
It is possible to change the T
int
and T
ext
temperature values within a
range of ±3 K respectively.
For internal bath applications, hang the reference thermometer in the
bath. Observe the corresponding information on the calibration certifi-
cate.
For external applications, install the reference thermometer in the inlet
of the constant temperature equipment. Observe the corresponding
information on the calibration certificate.
Wait until the system is in a steady state before measuring the tem-
perature.

The Input window opens.
3.
Enter the value of the temperature read from the reference ther-
mometer.
4.
Press [OK] to confirm the new offset value.
The new value has been accepted.
