Disclaimers, Warnings, and Precautions
Before using your Thermal Infrared
Camera System,
it is important that you read this user manual to make sure you know how to use
the device properly. After reading the manual, store it in a secure place for future reference.
Incorrect handling and installation of the thermal camera could possibly result in damage to the vehicle it is attached to or cause
personal injury or death. Speedir assumes no responsibility for any damage caused by misuse or conditions beyond the scope
described in this manual.
The thermal camera is not intended to be used as a vehicle’s primary navigation source. The device does not replace human vision
nor the use of headlights in any way. The device is designed as an early acoustic warning system to detect some pedestrians, animals,
and other conditions on the roadway; however, it may not detect all hazards. It is the chief responsibility of the driver to safely
operate the vehicle.
Export Restrictions
Thermal cameras are subject to export restrictions of the United States Government. It is the buyer’s responsibility to comply with the
export laws and regulations and acquire an export license if required.

Introduction
In recent years, the demand for Driving Assistant Systems (including Infrared Thermal Vision Systems) has increased dramatically.
Infrared Driving Assistant Systems can help a driver identify pedestrians in front of their vehicle during low light situations. The
Speedir Thermal Infrared Driving Assistant is capable of identifying the objects generating heat, displaying them on a screen, and
improving the driver’s experience.
The infrared thermal imager detects infrared energy (heat) through a non-contacting method, converts it to an electric signal, and
generates a thermal image that appears on a screen. The infrared thermal imager is an inspection device which can be used to
calculate the temperature. It can also precisely quantize and measure the detected heat, so that you can observe the thermal image and
accurately identify animals and pedestrians.
Per the statistics of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, while night driving only accounts for 25% of total road
traffic, the number of fatal accidents accounts for 50%. This makes having an Infrared Driving Assistant an important safety
accessory for any driver.
