Navigate to the
Calibration Certification
tab, which shows when the meter was
last certified by the factory and when it is due for recertification.

the next certification.

The certification interval can be changed to reflect
your own certification time line.

A reminder is displayed as a popup X number of days
before the interval time has expired.

Choose your calibrator from the

drop-down menu.

Insert the 1/2” microphone into the 1/2” microphone opening at the bottom of
the calibrator.
Step 4
Power the calibrator on. The calibrator turns off after 1 minute. Use it within that
time, or press the power button again.
Step 5
Use the navigation keys to select
Do Calibration
. The 831C calibrates and asks if
you want to save the results.
Step 6
Select
Yes
when complete.
TAKE NOTE
If you see an error message (such as Calibration Out of Range), verify that the
dB level for your calibrator and your meter are the same, then perform the
calibration again. Be sure to power the calibrator on each time.
