Installation of Optional Upper Jaws
The following instructions are for installing “Upper Jaws
& Hydraulic Cylinders” and “Installation of Hydraulic
Components For Upper Jaws” on page 10.
If optional upper jaws are factory installed, then skip to
“Customer Supplied Hydraulics” on page 10.
Upper Jaws & Hydraulic Cylinders
Refer to Figure 1-1:
1. Attach upper jaw (#1) to the right-side with two pivot
pins (#2A).
2. Secure pivot pins with 1/2"-13 x 1 1/4" GR5 hex head
cap screws (#4) and hex flange locknuts (#5).
3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 to attach the other upper jaw (#1)
to the left-side.
4. Remove end plugs from pivot holes at base end and
rod end of hydraulic cylinders (#6).

5. Pin left-side and right-side hydraulic cylinders (#6) to
rear clevis plates with pivot pins (#2B) as shown.
6. Secure pivot pins (#2B) with 1/2"-13 x 1 1/4" GR5 hex
head cap screws (#4) and flange locknuts (#5).
Tighten flange locknuts to the correct torque.
7. Remove port plugs from hydraulic cylinders (#6) and
pull out on rod end of hydraulic cylinder.
8. Make sure grease zerks (#3) are pointing up as
shown. Attach rod end of hydraulic cylinders (#6) to
front clevis plates with pivot pins (#2C) as shown.
9. Secure pivot pins (#2C) with 1/2"-13 x 1 1/4" GR5 hex
head cap screws (#4) and flange locknuts (#5).
Tighten lock flange nuts to the correct torque.

Components For Upper Jaws” on page 10.
