General Maintenance Safety
DANGER
!
To avoid serious injury or death:
•
Always shut tractor down using “Tractor Shutdown
Procedure” provided in this manual before servicing,
adjusting, cleaning, or maintaining this implement.
•
Always disengage power take-off, shut tractor down, and
wait for the drive-train and rotor blades to spool down to a
stop before allowing anyone to clean, service, preform
maintenance, or be near the mower.
•
Always secure equipment with solid, non-concrete supports
before working under it. Never go under equipment
supported by concrete blocks or hydraulics. Concrete can
break, hydraulic lines can burst, and/or hydraulic controls
can be actuated even when power to hydraulics is off.

Any failure to observe the information provided in this
manual could pose risks to the health and safety of
individuals.
•
While the implement has been designed and built to operate
in harsh environmental conditions, all scheduled
maintenance procedures must be carried out exactly as
indicated.
•
Allow only persons to perform maintenance on this
implement who have been properly trained in its safe
•
Keep unauthorized persons out of the work area when the
implement is in use. If necessary, stop the machine
immediately and instruct the unauthorized individuals to
leave the hazardous areas.
•
Do not wear rings, watches, jewelry, unfastened or
dangling garments, such as ties, torn garments, scarves,
unbuttoned jackets, or blouses with open zippers that could
get caught in moving parts.
•
Except when expressly specified, all maintenance or
adjustment must be performed with the power take-off
disengaged, the tractor engine is turned off, the tractor is in
park or the park break is set, and the switch key removed
and in the driver's possession.
•
Before carrying out any maintenance operations, activate
all the required safety devices and, if necessary, advise any
other personnel working on the machine or in its vicinity. In
particular, be sure to properly set the boundary limits of
surrounding areas and to prevent access to any devices that,
if activated, could create unexpected hazards.
•
Never use the driveline as a step to facilitate work on the
machine.
•
Buildup of debris around moving components and
gearboxes is a fire hazard. Keep rotating parts and

Adjustment Safety

Except when expressly specified, all maintenance or
adjustment must be performed with the power take-off
disengaged, the tractor engine is turned off, the tractor is in
park or the park break is set, and the switch key removed
and in the driver's possession.
•
Upon completing the operations, and before reactivating
the machine, check to make sure that no tools, rags, or other
materials have been left near the machine's moving parts or
in hazardous areas.
