Spin Spreader Rates (English
Narrow Pattern Calculations
Calculations in the
“English Seed Rate Chart”
on
page 20 with 48" spread width are based on:
•
With spin deflector attached.
•
With and without restrictor plate.
•
Dispersal pattern at 48" width.
•
Traveling at 1 mph (mile per hour)
EXAMPLE:
Refer to “English Seed Rate Chart” on page 20:
If you are dispersing alfalfa at 1mph with the spin
controller set on position 2, the discharge rate will be
515.6 lbs/acre or 11.8 lbs/1000 sq. ft. If you are driving at
4 mph, calculate discharge rate as follows:
•
Divide 515.6 by 4 = 128.9 lbs/acre.
•
Divide 11.8 by 4 = 2.9 lbs/1000 sq. ft.
REMEMBER: Increasing travel speed decreases amount
of material being applied.
Wide Pattern Calculations
Calculations in the
“English Seed Rate Chart”
on
page 21 are based on:
•
With spin deflector removed.
•
With or without restrictor plate.
•
Dispersal pattern at widths indicated in the chart.
•
Traveling at 1 mph (mile per hour).
•
Refer to the Seed Rate Chart for the spread width of a
particular seed.
Refer to EXAMPLE:
Refer to “English Seed Rate Chart” on page 21:
If you are dispersing alfalfa, the spread width will be 20 ft.
If you are traveling 1mph with the spin controller set on
position 2, the discharge rate will be 103.1 lbs/acre or
2.4 lbs/1000 sq. ft. If you are driving at 5 mph, calculate
the discharge rate as follows:
•
Divide 103.1 by 5 = 20.6 lbs/acre.
•
Divide 2.4 by 5 = 0.5 lbs/1000 sq. ft.
REMEMBER: Increasing travel speed decreases the
amount of material being applied.
NOTE:
Data in the
“English Seed Rate Chart”
is
based on traveling 1 mph. To calculate discharge
rate at other speeds, divide the data in the chart by
the mph you are traveling.

Spin Spreader Rates (Metric
Narrow Pattern Calculations
Calculations in the
“Metric Seed Rate Chart”
on
page 22 with 1.22 meters spread width are based on:
•
With spin deflector attached.
•
With and without restrictor plate.
•
Dispersal pattern at 1.22 meters width.
•
Traveling at 1 kph (kilometers per hour)
EXAMPLE:
Refer to “Metric Seed Rate Chart” on page 22:
If you are dispersing alfalfa at 1kph with the spin
controller set on position 2, the discharge rate will be
930.1 kgs/hectare or 93.0 kgs/1000 sq. m. If you are
driving at 4 kph, calculate discharge rate as follows:
•
Divide 930.1 by 4 = 232.5 kgs/hectare.
•
Divide 93.0 by 4 = 23.25 kgs/hectare.
REMEMBER: Increasing travel speed decreases amount
of material being applied.
Wide Pattern Calculations
Calculations in the
“Metric Seed Rate Chart”
on
page 23 are based on:
•
With spin deflector removed.
•
With or without restrictor plate.
•
Dispersal pattern at widths indicated in the chart.
•
Traveling at 1 kph (kilometers per hour).
•
Refer to the Seed Rate Chart for the spread width of a
particular seed.
EXAMPLE:
Refer to “Metric Seed Rate Chart” on page 23:
If you are dispersing alfalfa, the spread width will be
6.1m. If you are traveling 1kph with the spin controller set
on position 2, the discharge rate will be
930.1 kgs/hectare or 93.0 kgs/1000 sq. m. If you are
driving at 5 kph, calculate discharge rate as follows:
•
Divide 186.0 by 5 = 37.2 kgs/hectare.
•
Divide 18.6 by 5 = 3.7 kgs/1000 sq. ft.
REMEMBER: Increasing travel speed decreases the
amount of material being applied.

rate at other speeds, divide the data in the chart by
