1ST START UP
After connecting the equipment to the circuit, proceed as follows:
a) Fill the container with salt up to 10 mm from the edge of the brine tube (Fig. 5)
b) Keep the manual by-pass open
c) Press the Man. Reg. button
d) Slowly open the flow of water to the softener: wait until clean water comes out of the
drain
e) Perform a complete
test inspection
to check that the various regeneration stages work
properly
f) Check that the system is watertight
g) Check that the brine valve is operating correctly. (The brine valve is usually supplied
calibrated on minimum H value). The table at the side indicates the position of the
brine valve for each softener model.
h) Open the flow of softened water to the system, checking that the residual hardness,
using the mixer, is adjusted to 15
°
F for water used for human consumption, as
indicated in DPR 236/88.
i) A complete regeneration should be done before the equipment is left in operation.
TEST INSPECTIONS
To perform a rapid test cycle in automatic, set the time at one minute for each
regeneration stage then press the button

MANUAL REGENERATION
In this way it is possible to check the exact functioning of all the regeneration
stages. At the end of the whole cycle, set the regeneration times as shown in the
VOLUME TIMES table.
ORDINARY MAINTENANCE
- Regularly check the salt level. Remember that the level of dry salt must exceed the level
of the saline solution.
- The salt used must be suitable for softeners and if possible be of the tablet type.
- Empty and wash the salt container every 4 - 6 months using just water.
- Regularly check the time displayed and the time of regeneration.
- If the apparatus is left for a long time without being used, shut off the water flow of the
equipment and open the by-pass valve. Switch off the electric current.
- When the softener is reactivated run a supplementary regeneration.
- Check that the brine valve is watertight.
- Regularly check the quality of water in outfeed.
