Temperature Calibration Selection
The default temperature calibration selection is appropriate for most critical care patient monitors. Select the Default
Temperature setting in the Configuration tab of the VitalsBridge Connector.

Temperature Readings
There are a few non-custom calibrations provided for vital signs monitors that have hand-
held “Spot Check”
temperature probes.
1.
Choose the appropriate patient monitor with a hand-
held “Spot
-
Check” temperature probe
from the list of
temperature calibrations in the VitalsBridge Connector
’s Calibration Tab
.
2.
Place the temperature probe on the spot-check monitor in
the probe’s
cradle.
3.
Navigate to the
“
Manual
”
tab on the VitalsBridge Connector software.
4.
Ensure the
“
Force Temp Off
” checkbox
is selected.
5.
Take the temperature probe on the spot-check monitor from its cradle, followed
by unchecking the “
Force Temp
Off
” checkbox.
6.
Wait for the monitor to take a reading.
CO
2
Calibration (VB300 only)
Calibration may be needed if the end-tidal CO
2
reading on the patient vital signs monitor does not properly match the
CO
2
waveform on the Instructor Application. CO
2
calibration is performed in a similar manner as SpO
2
(page 31).
1.
Ensure CO
2
regulator is attached to the VitalsBridge, the patient monitor capnography measurement system is
active, the sampling line is attached, and the VitalsBridge is running (pages 17 - 20).
2.
In the
“
Configuration
”
tab of the VitalsBridge Connector software, select the CO
2
radio button and press NEW.
3.
Enter the name of the custom calibration.
4.
As per the instructions on the user interface, wait a number of seconds and enter the end-tidal CO
2
value
(mmHg) shown on the patient monitor.
5.
Repeat step 3 for all necessary calibration points as prompted.
