Uroflowmetry
4.1
Introduction
Uroflowmetry is a simple, diagnostic screening procedure used to calculate the
amount of urine (volume), flow rate in seconds, and length of time until
completion of the void.

During the uroflowmetry the following channels can be measured:

Investigation
Click the
Uroflow
button to start the pre-test.

Prepare the flowmeter as described in § 2.5.11.

Place the urine container on the flowsensor.
❑
Position the patient on the micturition chair or commode.
Press the
Start investigation
button.
Press the
Permission to void
button to mark the miction command.
Leave the patient alone. The LED on the remote control (RC-1600) will
provide you with feedback when the uroflow has been finished. Also
the buzzer of the remote control will beep after the flow has stopped.

Press the
Stop investigation
button to stop immediately. The
investigation stops automatically when the
Stop time
, which is set in
the uroflow protocol, elapsed after the last flow detection. Enter the
residual urine if prompted.
