DECREASE the screen contrast (lighten the screen) by positioning the highlight over the
bottom entry on the menu. While the highlight is positioned on the bottom entry, press the
down arrow key. The contrast adjustment occurs in small increments, so the down arrow
key may need to be pressed multiple times to obtain the desired adjustment.
8.4
CHANNEL SELECTION
This procedure may be performed while the PI is in CVR, CVDR, or Simulated CVR
modes. This procedure can be performed while on the Monitor or File Control Menus only.
Control of which channels are played back through the PI is obtained through use of the
Monitor or File Control Menus. Both of these menus list the available channels as well as
their current state, either OFF or ON.
TURN ON / OFF CHANNELS by positioning the highlight over the appropriate channel on
the menu. Pressing the Select key will toggle the highlighted channel between OFF and
ON states.

VOLUME SELECTION
This procedure may be performed while the PI is in CVR, CVDR, or Simulated CVR
modes. This procedure can be performed while on the Monitor or File Control Menus only.
A graphical indication of the volume status can be found at bottom of both the Monitor and
File Control Menus.
INCREASE the volume by positioning the highlight over the Up option and pressing the
Select button. The volume indicator should visibly increase by moving to the right.
DECREASE the volume by positioning the highlight over the Down option and pressing the
Select button. The volume indictor should visibly decrease by moving to the left.

AUDIO SELECTION
This procedure may be performed while the PI is in CVR or CVDR modes. This procedure
can be performed while on the Monitor Menu only.
A NORMAL/AC field is located to the left of the UP and DOWN fields on the Monitor Menu.
While in the Normal Mode the channel audio is monitored from the Recorder’s Acquisition
Processor PWA prior to being written into flash memory in the Crash Storage Memory
Unit. In the Reconstructed Mode the channel audio is monitored from the “reconstructed”
digitized audio which has been stored in the flash memory of the CSMU.
CHANGE the audio selection by positioning the highlight over the NORMAL/AC field and
pressing the Select button. This will toggle the PI between playing normal or reconstructed
audio.

PLAYBACK OPERATION
This procedure may be performed while the PI is in CVR or CVDR modes. This procedure
can be performed while on the Playback Menu only.
While in the Playback Menu, the buttons on the PI are remapped to more closely mirror
the buttons on a tape recorder.
